Itinerary: Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – the foot of Avachinsky volcano (Camel Rock) – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – The Valley of Geysers – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Gorely volcano – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Avacha Bay & Starichkov island – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Brief summary:

We present one of our easiest tours which is appropriate for those who don't have much spare time and for those who decide to visit Kamchatka for the first time. This tour will be an ideal variant for the families travelling with children. All nights you spend at a hotel. The route doesn't include any hard ascents.

After getting acquainted with the historical part of the town you will get to the foot of Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes where you climb a volcanic extrusion "The Camel".

The most impressive part of the tour is the helicopter excursion to the famous Valley of Geysers and Uzon caldera!

The next part of the tour is no less amazing ascent to the volcano Gorely. You will walk around its craters and admire the scenery with acid lakes.

The sea cruise around the Avacha Bay and to the natural monument Starichkov island will for sure leave indelible impressions of Kamchatka in your hearts!

Additional information:

Acid lake in the crater of Gorely volcano

Gorely volcano (1829 m) – is a typical shield-type volcano located in Southern Kamchatka, about 75 km SW of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, that is currently in an eruptive phase. Its modern edifice is composed of three large superimposed cones and 11 associated craters forming an intra-caldera ridgeline. There is a complex of 40 modern subsidiary cones on the slopes of “Young Gorely”. Andesite-dacitic lavas are exposed on the caldera rim and have a depth of 3-20 m. In the caldera, lava reaches a maximum thickness of 200 m. The explosive activity of 1984 – 1986 produced a crater which is now filled with an acid lake. The slopes of the main crater has multiple fumarolic outlets.

Uzon caldera

The Valley of Geisers – is one of the largest geyser areas in the world and the only one in Eurasia. It is situated in the heart of the Kronotskiy Preserve. Geysers are definitely nature miracles, because there are only four large fields sheltering dozens of natural fountains, staggering by their striking beauty and unique periodicity of work!

Not far from the Valley there’s the caldera of the ancient Uzon volcano, that attracts tourists from all over the world. The caldera of the Uzon volcano is a volcanic depression, which was formed in the result of the volcano top collapse.
