Drei Elementen

Day 1: Arrival in Kamchatka.

Arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel (the route with the view of the volcanic group) and check-in. Lunch.
City-tour around Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (drive to the viewing point and some historical sites of the town).

The city, founded by Danish navigator Vitus Bering in 1740, has always been a strategic port in the Far East of Russia. Many round-the-world expeditions of the XVIII – XIX centuries visited Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky with the refreshment purposes. During the 1854–1855 Crimean War the city was put under siege by the Anglo-French forces but never fell.

After returning to the hotel meeting with the guide to discuss the program in detail.
Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Flight to the Valley of Geysers.

Breakfast. Transfer to the heliport. Transfer to the helipad. Flight to the Valley of Geysers (1 hour 10 min). On the way we fly around two active volcanoes Karymskiy and Maliy Semyachik. Landing in the Valley of Geysers.

During the 1,5 hour's trekking excursion in the Valley of Geysers the group is accompanied by an English-speaking guide.  During the excursion you will see the eruption of the Bolshoy (“Big”) geyser, observe different thermal platforms of hot springs, fumaroles and mud pots. The route is equipped with wooden broad walks and is available for people of any physical training.

Helicopter flight into the caldera of Uzon volcano. A 40 minutes' trekking excursion around the Eastern thermal ground to observe moon landscapes and volcanic activity.
Flight to the nature park Nalychevo where you can bathe in natural thermal springs. Lunch in the park.
Flight back to the heliport. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

If you’d like to abstain from the helicopter excursion you spend this day on your wish. An optional program may be organized for additional fee.

Day 3: PKC – Kozyrevsk.

Breakfast. Transfer by all-terrain bus to Kozyrevsk village, on the bank of the river Kamchatka. Lunch en route in the old Cossaсk settlement Milkovo. Arrival at the village of Kozyrevsk. Accommodation at a private hotel, in wooden houses on a specially prepared ground.

Kozyrevsk is one of the oldest settlements of the Kamchatka region. It was founded in the 18-th century on the site of an ancient village of Itelmen – the indigenous inhabitants of the peninsula. It is situated in the valley of the river Kamchatka, 492 km to the north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It is also only 37 – 48 km away to the west of the active volcanoes: Ushkovsky (3943 m), Besymyanny (2882 m) and the highest active volcano of Europe and Asia – Klyuchevskaya Sopka (4850 m). A big Neolithic site – the remains of earth-houses, about 800 years of age, was discovered by archeologists in immediate proximity to Kozyrevsk.

Walking excursion around the village, visit of the observation site where you can see the panoramic view of the settlement and its vicinity: the river Kamchatka and the volcanoes.
Typical Russian sauna (banya). Dinner. Overnight stay in wooden houses on a specially prepared ground.

Day 4: Kozyrevsk – Tolbachik valley – the spot of The Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption of 1975 – 1976.

Breakfast. We drive to the Tolbachik dale to the height of about 1200 m asl. Excursion to the slag cones of the Northern explosion that appeared during the Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption in 1975 – 1976. Climbing a new volcanic cone.

The new cones look like mini-volcanoes up to 200 meters high.

Lunch. Excursion to the "Dead Forest" and exploration of the old lava caves in the crater of the cone Zvezda (The Star).

Transfer to the site of the base camp. Assembling the tents.

Dinner. Toolbox talk about the following day.

Overnight in tents in the camp.

Day 5: Ascent to Flat Tolbachik volcano (3085 m).

Breakfast. Ascent to the top of Plosky (Flat) Tolbachik volcano. You will be en route 10 to 12 hours. Lunch on the volcano slope.

As a result of The Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption the bottom of the crater was destroyed and a 500 meters deep caldera was formed. It is now 1,7 km wide.

Observe the crater and the surrounding landscape.

Return to the base camp.

Dinner. Instructions for the next day.

Overnight stay in tents in the base camp.

Day 6: The Tolbachik fissure eruption of 2012 – 2013 - the village of Esso.

Breakfast. Walking excursion to the eruptive fissure – the central spot of the eruption of 2012 – 2013 (which was given the name of 50-th anniversary of the Institute of volcanology and seismology FED RAS). Exploration of the site: large fresh lava flows, caves (lava tubes), stone sculptures and piles upon piles of the frozen lava. Lunch en route. Return to the base camp. Lunch. Packing up the camp.

Transfer to the village of Esso.

The way from the camp to Esso is 160 km long in a cross country which will take us about 5 hours.

Arrival at Esso.

Check-in at the hotel with a thermal swimming pool.

Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Ethnographical museum - the Bystraya river.

Breakfast. Visit to the Bystrynsky district ethnographic museum, where you will see the exhibits of the material and spiritual culture of the indigenous people of Kamchatka and get acquainted with flora and fauna of Bystrinsky region.

Transfer to the Bystraya river. Lunch en route in the village of Milkovo.

Day 8: Starting rafting.

Breakfast. Packing up the camp. Preparation of the rafts. Toolbox talk. Rafting along one of the biggest and the most beautiful rivers of Kamchatka.

During rafting it will be possible to catch fish (loach, mikizha, grayling). Lunch on the riverbank. Rafting. Assembling the tent camp. Dinner. Fishing from the bank of the river. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 9: Rafting.

Breakfast. Packing up the camp. Rafting. Lunch on the riverbank. End of rafting. Dinner.

Transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Rest. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: The Avacha bay - PKC - the foot of Gorely volcano.

Breakfast. Transfer to the sea quay in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Cruise along the bay Avachinskaya to a natural preserve – the island Starichkov. Lunch on board.

The way to the island Starichkov goes along the Avacha bay passing the so called ID-card of Kamchatka the rocks "Three Brothers" and lava rock "Devil's finger". You will see the rookeries of the sea mammals and bird colonies.On the way back we make a stop to catch some sea fish in the Tikhaya bay.

Return to the town.

Transfer by all-terrain bus to the caldera of Gorely volcano. The route goes south gaining height along the valley of the river Paratunka.

As we go up the road we stop to make photos and video at the height of 1100 m at Vilyuchinsky pass. There you will get a formidable view of the valley of the river Paratunka and the volcanoes Gorely and Mutnovsky. Then we go south along a volcanic plateau.

Day 11: Gorely volcano climbing.

Breakfast. Transfer by all-terrain bus to the caldera of Gorely volcano. The route goes south gaining height along the valley of the river Paratunka.

As we go up the road we stop to make photos and video at the height of 1100 m at Vilyuchinsky pass. There you will get a formidable view of the valley of the river Paratunka and the volcanoes Gorely and Mutnovsky. Then we go south along a volcanic plateau.
Ascent to the crater and to the volcano summit (1829 m a.s.l.). Lunch at the top of the volcano. Walk around the craters.

By favourable weather you will see more then 15 volcanoes around. They are Zhirovskoy, Mutnovsky, Vilyuchinsky, Asacha, Opala, Khodutka, Zeltovsky, Aag, Arick, Koryaksky, Avachinsky, Dzendzur, Zhupanovskie and others.

Descent back to the camp. Dinner. Overnight in tents in the camp.

Day 12: Mutnovsky volcano climbing - PKC.

Breakfast. Packing up the camp. Transfer by all-terrain bus to the foot of the volcano Mutnovsky. Safety measures instructions. Hiking inside the active crater of the volcano.

The biggest of the craters of the volcano is located at the altitude of 1600 m, it is considered to be one of the most impressive crates in Kamchatka.

Observe the fumarole zone and of the falling glacier. Lunch incide the crater. Return to the automobile.

As a rule it takes 1,5 - 2 hours to get back.

Arrival at the bus. Drive to the canyon Opasny, where you can take pictures of an 80-meters waterfall. Drive back to the town. Accommodation at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Departure from Kamchatka.

Breakfast. Visit to the local fish market and a gift shop.

Transfer to the airport.

The price of the tour for the year 2020 is 200.000 roubles or 2.750 Euro per person.
